Michael D. Evans

mike evans museumMichael David Evans is an award-winning journalist who has served as a confidant to leaders in the Middle East for more than two decades. He has appeared on hundreds of network television and radio shows including Good Morning, America, Cross Fire, Nightline, The Good Morning Show (Great Britain), and appears frequently on the Fox Network, CNN World News, NBC, ABC, and CBS. Mike Evans has won more than fifteen national awards for his prime time specials based on his books.

Mr. Evans has been one of the most popular speakers worldwide, having spoken to more than one million people a year during the past decade. Through Mike Evans Ministries, he has spoken in Giants and Arrowhead Stadiums, and the Orange Bowl. He spoke at the Kremlin Palace in Moscow to Yoidi Full Gospel Church in Seoul, Korea (750,000 members.) In Mr. Evans’ world crusades, some 2 million people attended a single meeting. Mr. Evans has trained more than one hundred thousand leaders in his leadership institutes held worldwide.

He is the founder of the Corrie ten Boom Foundation in Holland and the Jerusalem Prayer Team (to which more than 1000 organizations and 300 of America’s top leaders such as Rev. Joel Osteen, Dr. Jack Hayford, Mrs. Anne Graham-Lotz, Dr. Tim LaHaye, Dr. John C. Maxwell, and Dr. Jack Graham) have lent their support. Recently, the Jerusalem Prayer Team funded the construction of the Mike Evans Museum in Jerusalem, now officially know as the Friends of Zion Heritage Center. Mr. Evans’ book, Showdown with Nuclear Iran became a New York Times and Amazon.com bestseller. He is also the author of 24 books including the New York Times and Wall Street Journal, Time Magazine, USA Today, Amazon #1, and Barnes and Noble.com #1 bestseller, The American Prophecies, as well as the New York Times bestseller, Beyond Iraq: The Next Move, and the Time Magazine bestseller, The Return. Mr. Evans wrote Beyond Iraq in eleven days, and launched the book eight weeks later in New York City.

Dr. Evans has founded dozens of pro-Israel enterprises such as the Jerusalem Prayer Team, Churches United with Israel, Lovers of Israel, the Evangelical Israel Friendship Council, the Evangelical Israel Prayer Breakfast, the Evans Institute of Middle East Studies (EIMES.org) and the Corrie ten Boom Fellowship. Dr. Evans purchased and restored the home of Corrie ten Boom in Holland, and has served as Chairman of the Board for over twenty-five years. The home is open as a Holocaust Museum.

Dr. Evans has dedicated his life to telling the story and to encouraging the people of Israel. He recently spearheaded the establishment of the Mike Evans Museum in Jerusalem, officially called the Friends of Zion Heritage Center. The Mike Evans Museum is yet another way of communicating that story that so many so-called Christians have tarnished, so much so that the Jewish people – God’s chosen – have been unable to comprehend.

The Mike Evans Museum is unique, simply based on the use of 21st century technologies that make it a museum of experience that takes visitors well beyond the ordinary and expected. It is a place where this love story is unfolded for all to acknowledge and receive.

Evans is an award-winning producer, having produced eighteen documentaries in Israel. His most famous, Let My People Go, spotlighted Natan Sharansky, who was at the time in a gulag in Russia. Mr. Evans asked President Ronald Reagan to seek Mr. Sharansky’s release, and the release of some 400 Jewish prisoners from President Mikhail Gorbachev. Dr. Evans also worked with a Dutch government official to encourage them to open the doors of the Dutch Embassy in Moscow to the Jews of Russia.

Evans’ newest book, The Final Move Beyond Iraq will be published by Strang Communications, and his latest documentary, “The Final Move Beyond Iraq,” will air in May 2007. The documentary contains interviews with CIA director James Woolsey, Harvard Law Professor Alan Dershowitz, General Hugh Shelton, Mort Zuckerman, owner of U.S. News and World Report, UN Ambassador Dan Gillerman, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and a host of others.

Mike Evans spoke at the World Summit on Terrorism in Jerusalem (with Benjamin Netanyahu, former Israeli Prime Minister), and to students at the Kennedy School of Law at Harvard University. As a writer, Mr. Evans has been published in the Wall Street Journal, Newsweek, USA Today, the Philadelphia Inquirer, the Jerusalem Post, The Washington Times and numerous other publications world-wide.

One of his speeches became an official document in the Congressional Record of the 97th Congress, second session. He was the only evangelical present at the White House signing of the Israeli/PLO Peace Accord, and was invited to the State funeral of Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin.

In February 2003, Mr. Evans received the Ambassador Award from the State of Israel during NRB in Nashville, Tennessee. He was a keynote speaker at the inaugural Jerusalem World Summit in Jerusalem in October 2003, and joined such notables as former Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and Vice Prime Minister Ehud Olmert.

Mr. Evans’ wife, Carolyn, is the chairwoman and founder of Christian Woman of the Year Association. Ruth Graham, Elizabeth Dole, Mother Teresa, and other distinguished women are among the recipients who have been honored during the past 15 years.

Mike and Carolyn Evans have four children, Michelle, Shira, Rachel and Michael, and five grandchildren.
